A newly published peer-reviewed pilot study in BMC Nursing evaluated the use of FIZE kUO® in critically ill patients, focusing on usability, nursing workflow, data reliability and safety.

Across 1,263 patient-hours of continuous monitoring, nurses reported positive experiences with the system, including:

  • 87% reported improved recognition of changes in urine output
  • 88.9% said the system helped prevent missing data
  • Around 3 out of 4 reported time savings
  • Nearly 4 out of 5 reported earlier identification of situations requiring intervention
  • No device-related adverse events were observed

For FIZE Medical, continuous urine output data is an important part of the broader fluid-management decision-making in the ICU, helping provide clinicians with more timely, reliable kidney UO data alongside other parameters used in patient assessment.
